#03 Green Time

We began our 3rd day in Seoul at one of my absolute favorite coffee shops in the whole world, Anthracite Seogyo.

We did some writing, I recorded the space but funny enough it was so silent In there essentially it’s just the low static of the mics, so instead press play below to skip ahead to our next location.

Rūta x Jay

In the beginning you’ll hear me setting the Sony to record then walking away, accompanied by not so distant racket ball, and close birds. a moment or two in you’ll hear that faint ringing begin, that is RIF it’s radio interference and I wouldn’t be offended if you stopped the recording there. That noise is common all over if, it’s caused by all sorts of signals including cell phones, it’s why if you work in recording studios you’ll always be asked to turn off your phone or keep it away from the recording gear if you’re in the room/booth. Near the end you can hear Jay let us know the “Green Time” as he called it has ended, the shops have opened up, and it is time to explore.

Next stop was Mesh Coffee in Seongdong-gu, which Jay told us is possibly the best coffee in all of Seoul, and we are inclined to agree. It was the best single cup of coffee we had in all our time in Seoul and we are grateful to one of the owners of the shop Kim gi-hoon 김기훈 for hanging out with us after making our coffee (also gifting us notebooks and custom stickers he designed!)

Now press play to take a short ride with us on the Seoul underground..
